The 2012 Symposium

The 2012 "Os Puritanos" Symposium will be held in two locations in Brazil this summer.  First, Belem, at the mouth of the Amazon River, is home to the Central Presbyterian Church which hosts the conference from June 28 to July 1.  Next, the full conference is held at the Hotel Praia Dourada in the coastal town of Maragogi from July 2 to July 6.  

Our featured speakers this year are:

Dr. Wes Bredenhof
Dr. Bredenhof is currently pastor at the Providence Canadian Reformed Church in Hamilton, Ontario. He was previously co-pastor at the Langley Canadian Reformed Church and has also been a missionary working in the Fort Babine area of British Columbia.  Dr. Bredenhof's full bio can be found here:  http://yinkahdinay.wordpress.com/curriculum-vitae/

Dr. Nick Willborn
Dr. Willborn is adjunct Professor of Historical Theology at Greenville Presbyterian Theological Seminary and also pastor of Covenant Presbyterian Church in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. In addition to his pastoral labors, Dr. Willborn is a frequent conference speaker and serves as the co-editor of The Confessional Presbyterian.  Dr. Willborn's full bio can be found here: http://www.gpts.edu/faculty/nick_willborn.php

Rev. Kenneth Wieske
Rev. Wieske is a missionary to Brazil with the Canadian Reformed Church, having served in Brazil since 2000.  He earned his Bachelor's degree from McMaster University in 1993, studied original languages at Institut Farel das Eglise Reformees du Quebec, earned his MDiv from the Theological College of the Canadian Reformed Church, is ordained in the Canadian Reformed Church in Surrey, British Columbia.

Dr. Paulo Brasil
Rev. Brazil is currently pastor of Igreja Presbiteriana da Alianca in Recife, Brazil.  He is also Professor of Hebrew and Exegesis and coordinator of the Masters programs at the Presbyterian Seminary of the North in Recife, Brazil.  He also earned his Bachelor's in Theology from the Presbyterian Seminary in Recife, Masters in Old Testament at Andrew Jumper Graduate School in Sao Paulo, Masters in Linguistics at the Federal University in Piaui, and Doctorate in Old Testament at Greenville Presbyterian Theological Seminary in Greenville, SC.  

Rev. Breno Macedo
Rev. Macedo is an minister ordained by the Presbyterian Church of Brazil.  He earned his Masters in Divinity from Greenville Presbyterian Theological Seminary in Greenville, SC and is currently studying for his Masters in Systematic Theology at Puritan Reformed Theological Seminary in Grand Rapids, Michigan.    He earned his bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from the Federal University of Pernambuco in Recife, Brazil.
